Give voice and build resiliency in the face of change.
In a rapidly changing world, there is much talk about resiliency. What is resiliency and how can we create it together?
Communities need to adapt, reorganize, and evolve in the face of unprecedented change. Communities are products of decisions made by people interacting, learning, and working together. Trust and deep relationships are crucial to coping with the reduced resources, loss of livelihoods and erosion of social equality in the wake of climate change, displacement, and drastic shifts of leadership.
Building resilience means not just overcoming the unexpected, but thriving. We're working closely with leaders in conservation, gender equity and education to actively engage stakeholders to work together at the grassroots level. When communities unite to voice their needs and concerns, change gains attention and traction.
The most vulnerable communities are the most heavily impacted by the forces of change. Rural and indigenous people rely on local ecosystems for their livelihoods. Girls and women continue to fight for education, health services and independence. Refugees and immigrants face growing threats to their human rights.
